My best friend and I decided to make friendship bracelets for each other since we never made them before. This would be a new experience for both of us to try out. First we looked up how to make bracelets online and tried to make it. I made her bracelet with the colors pink, blue, white, and purple. This took me almost a week to make it since it was so boring. But I finally finished it and it looks pretty good. My best friend made me a purple, green, black, and white one. And it was really pretty. I think we did a good job and it shows we worked really hard to make each other these bracelets. Especially if this was our first times making it.

On May 12th, I finally got my license! It took my forever to get it even after I got my permit since I procrastinated so much. I took my test really early in the morning around 940 but my driving instructor took me driving around Daly City area since I was taking my test at the DMV in Daly City. I got really nervous when I saw the person coming to my car asking for my papers. She tested my hand signals and lights and told me to start driving. I was so nervous driving and I wanted to be safe and made sure I kept looking around and paying attention. There was this one part where I was driving on the right lane and there was a tow truck there. I asked if I should change and and she told me that I am suppose to know what to do. I changed lanes but forgot to go back until she told me and I knew I got a point marked off. After driving around for a while she told me to drive back to the DMV and we park where driving test people go. I was waiting for her reply and luckily she told me that I passed and that I only got 8 points marked off. I was so happy. I can finally drive! I got my official license a week after but I didn’t really love my picture. I wish it looked better.

For one of my stretchmarks, I made some glass pendants. I went with some people from art and ceramics class to this place on third street to make glass. When we got there, they showed us this giant thing were they keep the hot glass. Before we started, they started to make glass and the hot glass was all red which was pretty cool. They told us we have to keep rotating it or the glass will drop downward. They had three different projects we had the option of doing. One was where you can make glass paperweights with color on the inside, one was where you cut pieces of glass and then you can melt them into a picture, and the other one was where you can make necklace pendants. I made two glass pendants. First, you have to heat the tip of the glass rod and start rotating it then you have to press it on a metal then after, you have to dip it into pieces of color glass then keep rotating it. Once you keep rotating, the color would be inside and you tell your instructor what shape you want the pendant to be. I made a swirl and a teardrop piece. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience.

This year was my first and only time going to an official school dance. My old private school never had any dances, so this was a whole new experience for me. Prom was on May 1st at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame. They had coat checks and all that. I got my money back since I had good attendance, which was good to hear. I also took a couple prom picture and it felt like I was in line for an hour just to take one photo. The theme for this year was “Midnight Masquerade” and everyone was allowed to design a mask for a chance to win a free Iphone. We had salad for an appetizer, chicken and mash potatoes for the main dish, and cheesecake for dessert. I danced for a while but I was pretty tired since I was also wearing heels. They ended the dance early but we all got these giant gold candles to remember the dance. I liked prom because I got to see all my friends dressed up with their hair all done and wearing makeup. But also they were in dresses and heels. Just like the photo on top.

After my friend’s birthday, we went to watch Shutter Island. This was movie was highly anticipated so I was expecting a lot out of this movie. I was expecting it to be scary but I only jumped in a few parts. The commercials made it seem really scary and it was suppose to be these two people who visit an island for the mentally insane. They go there to find out what is really going on the island. We went on the second day it came out so it was pretty packed. We had about seven people with us so it was pretty hard to find seats. We basically were in the front row and it was hard to watch the movie. The movie confused a lot though because there was so many twists in the movie. Some of my friends found it so boring, they actually went to sleep. After the movie, I felt I could have spent my money on a different movie.  I didn’t like all the confusion and questions after I finished the movie.

I went to visit Chico State University. I went on a Friday afternoon with my dad and we began driving there around two o’ clock. The ride there was really boring but it was bonding time with my dad. For hours all I saw was trees and nature. When we finally got there we just checked into a hotel in the next town because all the places in Chico were full. People were staring at me and my dad since we were a minority in that place. We got to Chico State the next day around 8AM. We got tours around the campus and dorm rooms. They even had apartment places that has a 24 hour bus shuttle. We also had a giant barbecue for all the people visiting the campus.  One thing that I enjoyed about the campus was people were really chill and of course I heard the parties at night time. The campus is blocked off my these poles because to get around the campus, you have to either walk or ride a bicycle. So there were tons of bike racks all around campus. I even got a Chico sweatshirt! My experience there was very enjoyable. Maybe one day I will go visit there again.

I went to this restaurant located in clement  where mostly everything thing in the menu is all spicy. My friends were talking about this place so one day we went to that place for my friend’s birthday. I tried this 3 spice chicken wings where it has jalapenos, red peppers and all that cooked with the chicken wings. It was pretty spicy but it tasted really good with rice and of course a soda to cool my mouth down. I think I would go there next time if I am ever craving any really spicy food.

I participated on the Day of Silence. It is to show I protest the silence against gays, lesbians, and transgenders. In class I didn’t talk until the end of day. It was a really tough challenge but I got through it. We had to wear a sign around our necks and had to have our teachers sign a piece of paper saying we didn’t talk in their class for the whole period. I felt like a lot of people in school participated in this event and I think it made a difference. I even saw people on the bus from other schools doing that too. I saw one person wearing duct tape over his mouth. I use to go to a Christian school so they didn’t believe in this but now in a public school, it was good that I can express how I feel and believe in.

I went to the De Young Museum with my mother and sister to see the King Tut exhibit. My mom was talking about it for the longest time when they opened the exhibit. Because apparently, it only comes to the city every so years. Last time she saw it was when she was like 20 something years old. When we got there the line was really long. The exhibit was filled with treasures and things during the time King Tut was king. No pictures were allowed and the last time the exhibit was in San Francisco you can actually see mummies. But this time the mummies aren’t allowed to travel anymore. Since these was precious artifacts from Egypt. I like this place because the culture and setting is interesting to me. I got a necklace from the gift shop that was a symbol for eternal life.

For my first stretchmark I went to see some workshop. It was during the Asian Film Festival. The tickets cost about $8 but we get to meet some Asian youtube stars like Wong Fu productions, Ryan Higa, Kevjumba and Timothy Delaghetto. In the workshop they talked about how they made it in the industry and how they made money on the site. They also showed us some their videos and after the event, we got to take pictures with them and talk to them. They just seem like normal people and they talked to us very casually. It was really cool getting to meet them because I watch them on youtube and seeing them face to face was a really cool experience for me since this was my first time going to an event like this.
